    • According to the Minister for communications in Ireland due to a complaint made to the EU 30% of airplay could not be granted to Irish music in Ireland on the basis that it would discriminate against European musicians. Irish cultural music now gets less than 5% airplay nationwide causing huge problems for the Irish professional folk and traditional singers and musicians. This has a huge knock on affect not alone on marketing sales and concerts for Irish music, but also it has a huge affect on foreign tourists coming to Ireland, because folk and traditional music should be a major attraction. I and many like me are unemployed because of this legislation which is an EU directive according to the Minister for Communications. It would be important to examine the legislation.

    • so fair dues to our competent politicians in Ireland after all the years of trying to win back our SOVERINTY they have undone all the years of hard work since the formation of the state.
Greed, chroniesm, and a look after ourselves (wealthiest in society)attitude at the expense of the porer classes in society.

What about all the people who through no fault of there own had to emigrate and sent back money to build up this state in the 50s, 60s and 70s and are left to survive on a miserable pension unlike the pensions given out to our politisions and top civil servants.
